Welcome to ehealthforum,
If your ovarian function is intact and if you are not perimenopausal, the medications might work in helping you to get pregnant (the efficacy will also depend on your health condition and presence/absence of any other fertility issues). Irregular periods are associated with anovulatory cycles (menstrual cycles without periodic egg release from ovary). Other causes include: hormonal derangements, ovarian suppression, PCOS etc. It is difficult to comment on the exact cause for the irregular periods without examining you and going ahead with further evaluation. The exact cause can only be made out after careful evaluation. You should consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination and further evaluation to look for the underlying cause for the irregular periods that you describe. Treatment as appropriate (based on examination findings and investigations results) would be started to help you regulate periods and get pregnant (if you are not perimenopausal). Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Maintain healthy diet and lifestyle.
Take care.
