8 yo son has deep separation anxiety.

User Profile
My 8 year old son Hassan has deep separation anxiety. He doesn't want to go to school. He wants to stay with me all the time. Although I have 2 more kids younger than him but they are different. They don't have any problem to stay home with my housemaid. But Hassan starts crying like a baby, if he doesn't see me. Even he can't sleep properly, becoz of feeling of being alone. Please help me and give me solution for this problem.

Hi, and thanks for your query on eHealth forum!

The best solution is to consult a specialist/therapist. Some counseling may help. Talking to your son over the phone during the day may help remove some anxiety. Also, find out whether the housemaid treats him well or not by paying surprised visits home—it could be that he is not treated well because he is more anxious type. Hope this helps. Take care!
