7 yo female nighttime coughing fits

My 7yr old daughter has coughing fits only at night, only in her bedroom, only in fall to early winter. She sleeps quietly any other place in the house and thru the rest of the year. Allergy medicine prescribed by PCP does not help. The cough is dry and relentless; sometimes leads to vomiting. What can this be?

Most likely she must be having allergic bronchitis / asthma , which causes bronchoconstriction which presents as dry spasmodic cough.

In addition to the allergy medications she may benefit by use of bronchodilator medications which may help to resolve the symptoms.

Hence it would be recommended to consult a allergist or a pulmonologist who can provide a proper remedy for her symptoms.

This, too, can be an allergic cough. Maybe it's time to prescribe sprays against allergies.
