I read your question and i understand your concern.
As in Cystic fibrosis patients infective exacerbations in lungs are frequent,hence frequently antibiotics are used.
Sometimes double antibiotics are used in case of pseudomonas aeruginosa to avoid resistance.
Antibiotics have inhibitory effect on both recruitment and function of nutrophils,which are first line defence against fungal organisms like yeast.
Hence,now a days many more specimen from bronchoalveolar lavage shows fungal growth.
