Hello, Im turning 17. I weight about 175 and 6'1. I used to be super active, wrestling/football. but have been lazy lately. About a year ago i smoked marijuana and had an extreme panic attack. I had a strange tighening feeling in my LEFT breast only but it almost felt internaly. After the tighntess it would realease and then i would have a heat flash, then it would happen again. Without smoking marijuana in about a year it just happened the other day. By the way i do have anxiety and suffer a little derealization. I felt the same feeling, tighening in my left breast and heat flashes. Can you please explain if im having heart problems or just anxiety. I had a ekg/cardiogram last year and everything came back fine.

From your symptoms it looks like a panic attack or anxiety attack. The most common symptoms may include trembling, dyspnea (shortness of breath), heart palpitations, chest pain (or chest tightness), hot flashes and dizziness etc.

When you have such kind of symptoms, breathe slowly through the nose using the diaphragm and abdomen. Do not breathe through the mouth. Talking with a supportive person — someone who has experienced true panic attacks personally; someone who is highly trained in treating panic attacks; loved ones who can offer support and comfort.

If the symptoms persist then please consult a physician. You may need anti anxiety medicines. Severe cases may require Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
