21 Year old possible heart heart disease or heart attack?

Hi I am 21year old, non smoker, occasional drinker. It feels like my heart is beating forcefully even at rest, tightness in the chest and i feel like burning in my chest, arms and back part of the body also i feel so tired. There is heart disease in my family . The symptoms are constant almost every day.

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out. Awareness of one's heart beat is called palpitation and when it occurs at rest, then they need to be evaluated. Amongst the general diseases, a low hemoglobin (anemia) and hyperthyroidism are important causes.

For ruling out the cardiac causes, you might need further tests like an EKG, echocardiography, 24 hour EKG monitoring etc. However, anxiety is one of the commonest causes of palpitations. You should also get your blood pressure checked and if it is high, then you need a detailed evaluation of the same. Please do consult a cardiologist for the same.
