Hi Im very confused at to what is going on but, we are trying for a baby since last was last Oct, last period was 1st January, last had sex on the 6th January. A week later I had pink & brown spotting, few days later took a preg test (too early I know!) this was neg. spotting stopped and started then i have had sore boobs for a day or two, mood swings and teary. Bleeding got slightly heavier this weekend took another test when i woke up today (may be too early still) and neg. also saw the doctor friday and he examined my belly. He couldn't tell me exactly what it is but could be a mini miscarriage or an infection, or could be pregnant. am due on next week, never had bleeding in between periods before or pink spotting. I am now more last night had heartburn which I never have since I had my first child 3 1/2 years ago (only have the one). My arolas are dark and bumpy too. Any help would be great?

Early Pregnancy Signs and Symptoms Answer A18937

Welcome to ehealthforum.
Your symptoms (brown spotting, breast soreness, mood swings, tiredness, dark and bumpy areola, heartburn) do suggest possibility of pregnancy. Request your doctor to get blood HCG levels done. Serial tests showing rise in levels would confirm that pregnancy is going on smoothly. If the levels go down, then the bleeding could be indicative of miscarriage.
If pregnancy is ruled out, then further tests (vaginal smear) should be done to look for infection, hormonal levels and ultrasound scan to look for infertility problems, PAP smear test to look for cervix related issues.
Take care.
