Welcome to ehealthforum,
Intercourse after finishing with periods can result in pregnancy as you become closer to your peak fertile days/ovulation time. The heavy bleeding that you describe if associated with clots and abdominal cramps, it could suggest possibility of early or incomplete abortion and retained products of conception. Do not ignore your symptoms. Visit your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for examination and thorough evaluation to look for the underlying cause for the abnormal bleeding that you describe. Hormonal analysis done would help to rule out any hormonal derangements, thyroid abnormalities. Ultrasound scan done will help to rule out endometrial hyperplasia, retained products of conception etc which if found to be present, would require a D&C procedure to clean up the uterine cavity to help stop the bleeding. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Maintain healthy diet.
Take care.
