Welcome to ehealthforum,
You should have your periods/withdrawal bleeding even if you skip placebo pills (do not take them but at the same time do not start with the next pill pack without giving gap for periods/withdrawal bleeding to occur) as these do not contain hormones. The placebo pills are given in the pill pack to allow for the withdrawal bleeding to occur as well as to remind you when to start with the next pill pack such that the protection continues. You should start your next pill pack on time to continue to remain protected. Consider taking the pills as instructed (taking 1 pill a day at scheduled time daily). Visit your doctor/gynecologist for further clarification and assistance.
Take care.
