Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
Getting tubal ligation or tubes tied does not affect your hormonal levels, it just stops or creates barrier not letting egg reach the uterus and sperms reach the egg, hence effects like weight gain is not there. The hormonal contraceptives including intrauterine devices are known to have weight gain as a side effect along with others like nausea, headaches, increase in migraines, constipation, hairloss, acne, etc.
You can discuss about risks and benefits of tubal ligation with your treating gynecologist and proceed further.
Take care.
