Why am I having two periods a month?

I am having two periods a month. Its happened for about 3 months now. Its made my hormones go crazy. I'm so irritable and exhausted all the time, feeling faint and having hot flushes.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Can someone tell me why this might be?

Welcome to ehealthforum

Excessive bleeding and irregular periods can cause these symptoms and is due to hormonal changes in the body which can be even due to any underlying pelvis issues.Since it has been 3 months you require an evaluation and investigations as USG scan and Hormonal analysis to rule out the exact cause.
Usually birth control pills are advised in such cases.Consider visiting a Gynaecologist for evaluation.
