when food is digesting, I experience very sharp pains

User Profile
I recently had a complete hysterectomy, June 2015. Every since, when my food is digesting into my colons, I experience very sharp pains. Sometimes I pass gas but the pains are still there until I have a bowl movement. I do not participate in anal sex and my precious colonostamy was normal. The only other health issue I have is asthma. My diet has not changed too much, just eleimanting junk and prepackaged foods. I am now into a routine exercise regiment and drink water.

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. You are on the right track. You just have functional bowel symptoms and diet and lifestyle modifications alone will help. Take some antispasmodics for the pain relief and see if it helps.

I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
Take care
