O.k So I am 7 months pregnant and I'm kind of confused about my conception date. My due date is 9/2/10, but the Dr's said they are just going by the date of my last period. People keep telling me that it's off by a week or two, and I would just like to find out the closest answer possible, but I'm too embarrassed to ask my OBGYN.

So my last period was 11/17/09, and if I remember correctly it was 2 days late and rather short (my period has always been a couple days off though). I had protected sex on 11/9/09, 11/20/09, 11/21/09, and 11/25/09. I had unprotected sex on 12/7/09. Is it even possible to have concieved using condoms? Could I have been pregnant even though I had my period? My real question is out of all those dates which is the closest to my conception date?

spritealexander, LMP dating is very inaccurate unless you have perfectly regular and average cycles.

Looking at your data it looks like you had long cycles, around 34 days?

It is certainly less likely that you would get pregnant from Mr Condom. Unless he messed up or it tore. But you will normally know when that happens. You are also not very likely to be pregnant from sex before day 10 of that cycle.

Did you not have a scan around 6 weeks? That is normally used to do accurate dating. Don't be embarrassed to ask your ObGyn.

Take care!

Susan862003,

I did have my exam around 6 weeks, and My that's when my due date was changed from the end of August to September 2nd. The reason why I'm a little nervous is because when I count backwards from 40 weeks of my due date I get 11/26/09 which is Mr. Condom. And I have a few people telling me that the dates are always off by a few weeks.

I know it makes more sense for the dad to be 12/7/09 but I just want a little reassurance.

Thanks for your help

You should count back only 38 weeks. 40 weeks takes you back to 2 weeks before your ovulation (in a perfect world, 40 weeks will match with your LMP date, in practice, not so much).

Your accurate due date of Sept 2 points back to you ovulating and conceiving around Dec 10. That will mean that Mr Dec7 made you pregnant.
