If it's a single cold sore then in my experience topical application of doxycycline along with hydrocortisone mouth rinse helps in quicker resolution. This should only be done under the supervision of a healthcare expert

Cold sores are caused by HSV-1, also known as Herpes Simplex Virus. HSV-1 can be spread through close contact.
Taking of immune boosting and supportive vitamins and minerals like vitamin B complexes, A, C, E, zinc and vitamin D plays a huge role in preventing the arrival of any cold sores.
