What does it mean to have aggravated kidney while being Diabetic

My boyfriend is a type one diabetic and was just told he has an aggravated kidney. Recently he had his toe amputated and was told he has the mrsa infection. Could that have any effect on his kidneys and how serious could this be?

The term "aggravated" is used to indicate that the kidney functions have worsened .

It is likely that your boyfriend has preexisting kidney disease , including diabetic nephropathy.

You might consult with a nephrologist along with all the medical reports and he may be able to review them and explain you in specific details about your current status and further management.
