what can we do to strengthen our chances on having a child?

Hello, I'm Breanna, and I'm in my early twenties.

I am slightly over weight and trying to conceive. I have worked and worked to lose the weight, but nothing I do works. My significant other and I have intercourse weekly, several times a week. So far, I have yet to conceive.

I was wondering what I could do to strengthen our chances on having a child... What should I do to up our odds? Please help!

Thank you! -B

Be patient. On average it takes 3 months, and only after 12 months will your doctor look at it. Many women also report that once they give up trying, and have sex for fun rather than making a baby, they get pregnant. So stress can definitely affect your chances.

Learn to track your fertility and ovulation. You can look at the free tutorials/training on fertilityfriend (dor com) or look at a book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility: The Definitive Guide to Natural Birth Control and Pregnancy Achievement" by Toni Weschler. You can even get used copies from your favorite web bookstore for less than the cost of shipping.

Ultimately there are only 7 days (or slightly less) in every cycle that sex can make you pregnant. These resources will help you to recognize those 7 days.

Best of luck TTC!
