Hi, Thanks for submitting the question in this forum. You have an unprotected sex on 19 th February with your girlfriend.Following that she still did not have her period instead of taking regesterone tablets. Pregnancy tests are negative thrice. You are apprehensive about an unwanted pregnancy and want a period commencement of your girlfriend at an earliest. Now, I must clear you one information that pregnancy test never gives you a diagnosis just after any unprotected intercourse and it couldnot be used for prediction of possibility of a pregnancy. It will only give you a clue when done after a missed period. So, you have to wait until her expected date of next period and if she misses it, you can proceed for a pregnancy test to know whether she is pregnant. There is emergency contraceptive pills like Plan B , which only could help to prevent pregnancy if taken within 72 hours of intercourse. Regesterone tablets will not help much to commence a period in this situation. I suggest you now to wait for her expected date of next cycle. If she have a period on that day, everything is fine.If she doesnot have a period still after 3 to 4 days of the due date, repeat a pregnancy test. If it is positive, dont be upset, you still have an option with medical termination of pregnancy with medicines like mifepristone. Sincerely, Dr Bhattacharyya
