What are the methods to cure Sciatica?.

I had a burning sensation on the left thigh and pain on the ass when sitting or driving the car. My doctor told me that I had sciatica and and prescribed with Gabapentin 100mg three time par day. Now, two months, it seemed that this medication did not help much, only the pain and burning decreased a little bit. I'd highly appreciate any advice from Physician, and whoever having experience curing this disease. Please help.

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and I understand your concern.
Gabapentin helps in managing symptoms of sciatica but it is not the only management option.
You can try physiotherapy, which would help relief the pressure on sciatic nerve and hence help with pain.
If pain is very severe even spinal injections can be tried.
Surgery is the last option, when all conservative treatment fails.
You should get scans to see the degree of nerve compression.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
