went to hospital for appendicitis and was sent home?

hey all I just need some opinions on my situation
5 days ago I was in excruciating pain which lasted about 3 hours. the pain subsided but turned into a dull ache. I went to my doctor the next day who sent me to get scans done. I had the scans and the lady told me I had to get to the ER as I had appendicitis. I went straight up there and was admitted and told the surgery would be that night. well they didn't do it. my blood tests showed my CRP was at 36 (normal is below 4) so I clearly had an infection going on. the next day they said they would do surgery... nothing happened. it was a continuous cycle of you need to fast - no liquids or food and then oh no you can eat we will do it tomorrow now. anyway yesterday I was discharged with no surgery. they didn't give me antibiotics or do any further testing they just said because I wasn't screaming in pain I was fine basically. I was in there for 4 days all up.

my question, I still have this ache. its not bad but its definetly there. Does appendicitis fix itself? should I have had the surgery to get it removed? on the scans my appendix was 7.8mm but now im confused and I have no idea what to do. I am worried I still have it and they've just sent me on my way and I have no idea where I should go or if my appendix will burst at any moment.
thanks

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!
Normal diameter of appendix can be as high as 12mm.It could be subacute inflammation that's why it has settled on itself. If CRP was more than 300 then you should have worried. If there is no evidence of infection then antibiotics are not needed.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
