Weird cycles and unexplained weight loss

User Profile
Not sure if this is the right forum! I’m a 22 year old female and my normal weight has always been around 112 pounds. I’ve noticed this past week that I’ve lost about 5 pounds without a diet physical activity change. I also get weird menstrual cycles where I bleed lightly mid cycle for a week, but not sure if that’s related. I’m going to the doctor today, but wanted to see if anyone else has any opinion, or if I should worry.

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. 5 pounds is not a significant weight loss . However this mid menstrual bleed is persistent phenomenon, should be evaluated for the cause.

I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
Take care
