Last time I had sex was during one of my fertile windows 12-5-08. I've had bleeding every month for the past seven months around when my period would be, but instead of bleeding for 4-7 days (which is my normal), I've only been bleeding 2-3 days. End of January 2009, I had a blood test, but it came back negative. MY OB doc said it could be signs of my body starting early menopause--which can take up to 10 years to fully set in. Even if that could be the case, I truly don't think it is. I've always been very in tune with my body. And that doesn't make sense with how I've been feeling. Anyway...I've been on RX meds for anxiety since before December 2008, and am wondering if the meds (which alter my body's chemistry) could be causing HPTs even now to show up negative. I've had two kids...so I know what pregnant feels like. Yet, I've been second-guessing whether what I just started feeling now--in the past week at what would be 34 weeks if I were indeed pregnant) is baby movements. The HPTs are still showing up negative...but ONE of them showed the SLIGHTEST hint of positive when I went off my meds for 24 hours. Is it silly of me to ask for an ultrasound to be done--especially since I haven't had sex since December 5, 2008? Could I really be pregnant even though I've been bleeding? And is there a reason an HPT would show up negative this far along?

It does not matter if your periods changed from 4-7 days to 2-3 days, it is still a period. At 34 weeks you would surely know if you are pregnant by now - you did say that you are in tune with your body?

Yes...which is why all these pregnancy symptoms are baffling to me now...as I haven't had sex since December 5, 2008. However, it appears that the meds I've been taking (thinking I wasn't pregnant) could account for a LOT of stuff being "disguised" or thought to be something else until now. I've done THREE HPTs on different days recently...and each positive line gets darker/brighter each day there is less meds in my system. I had my OB doc tell me that since my blood test was negative at 8 weeks, that I wasn't pregnant. However, I've been reading (and know someone personally) that didn't have positive blood tests until 10-13 weeks...and tho they tested negative at first, were indeed pregnant. Considering I've always known RIGHT AWAY that I was pregnant--confirmed by HPT and blood tests--I took my doc's result to heart--though I doubted several things my body was telling me afterwards, but chalked it up to something else cuz of what the doc had said--all because the HPTs and first blood test came back negative. I'm going to be calling in tomorrow and asking for another blood test and hopefully an ultrasound. Like I said, everything up to this point could be explained away/thought to be related to something else. I should've listened to my gut from the beginning. Just wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this before or how long it was before they knew they were pregnant...or if meds caused faulty results for them as well.

Also...just because it looked like bleeding doesn't mean it was a period. You can have vaginal bleeding without actually shedding the lining of your uterus. I'm fully aware of this. I've just never experienced anything that seemed so much like a period and still been pregnant--tho I've heard it happens.

As far as knowing...It wasn't until I started gaining extra weight about 2 weeks ago that I even suspected anything. Since I've had a few extra pounds on me since having my second child, I just thought it was that. My weight didn't start increasing until just recently. That was the first thing that made me go "Hmmmmm...." Cuz my weight is REALLY consistant. But I gained 8 lbs in like 2 weeks...and it's not going away. And I haven't done anything differently--eating habits wise, etc.
