User Profile
I have not had a period since June of 2013 and i got off the depo shot in December 2013, and I had unprotected sex on the 27th and 28th of June, i took the plan b pill on June 28th two hours before having unprotected sex again! I had cramping the week of the 7th-11th and On July 16th I had dark red and brown blood in my underwear, this bleeding only last for 5 minutes and on the 17th when i wiped i had light brown on my tissue paper. so I took a pregnancy test the same day and it came back negative, so i took another one the next day and it to came back negative!
my question is was this ovulation or implantation bleeding?

Hi, and thanks for your query on eHealth forum!

Since you took emergency contraceptive and had unprotected sex, the bleed could be either due to pregnancy or due to withdrawal effect of hormones. Wait another week and repeat the pregnancy test. If it is negative and you plan to be sexually active without becoming pregnant, then please consult your gynecologist regarding contraceptive use. It is not advisable to use emergency contraceptive again and again as it can cause problems with your menstrual cycle and ovulation. Hope this helps. Take care!
