On november 11th I took my nuvaring out when I should have taken it out on the 13th and that night my bf and I had sex and the condom broke. The next morning I took ec at 9:00 a.m. and on the 16th started bleeding (almost on the day that if I had taken my ring out on the right day) and continued bleeding till I put the ring on on friday the 18th. So was that my period or should I be concerned? I just took my ring out on friday december 9th (not early, left it in the full 21 days) and am still waiting on a period but between the 12th and now have taken 5 pregnancy tests and all have been negative - is there a chance the ec could cause me to miss this month's period? should I take another hpt next week just to be safe? I'm really nervous and unsure

Emergency contraceptive does actually throw off your cycle. They say it can be about 5-7 days after taking EC that you should bleed. I'm told that is the indication it has worked. Continue using your BC how you normally would, it might take a month or 2 in order for your cycle to get put back on track, even on BC. I had a friend a few years ago who had to take EC and her cycle was off for a few months. Ususally it takes about 2 weeks from the time of sex to test for pregnancy, you have waited a month. You should be fine. You could test again if you wanted, but I think it's just the EC throwing off your cycle.
