Vomiting and lightheadedness

User Profile
I have a short history (around 5 year) of anxiety (I am 22 years old), but lately I have had something different. Ever since the Spring when I had mono, I haven't felt like myself. I am always tired, I have "plugged ears" all the time apparently due to allergies, and I have been getting sick a lot.

The thing I am really concerned with is whats happened the past 2 weeks. Last Monday I had what felt like food poisoning. I was throwing up all night, and my temp went up to 101-102 for 2 days. Ever since then, I have been incredibly lightheaded, my bp has gone up to 140/85 consistently (I check it;possibly from anxiety?), and its just been absolutely debilitating. My father keeps telling me its just anxiety, but I really seriously doubt that. I have had anxiety a LOT in the past, and it never manifested itself this way. I should also mention I have some GI issues, and I am going in for an endoscopy/colonoscopy monday.

Any ideas?

Hello.

Infectious mononucleosis is known to have a chronic manifestation, too, in addition to its acute phase. And almost 40% of those who have IM experience fatigue as a long term manifestation.

You also need to consider the issue of lowered immunity. Get your evaluations done to check if your immune system is functioning well.

Anxiety is less likely to manifest in such severe gastrointestinal symptoms with measurable temperature rise. And if there was no specific incidence which could increase your anxiety, the chances of anxiety being the cause are less.

Try to post here again after your endoscopy reports come back.

Regards
