1. It is lower in calories as compared to a non-vegetarian diet.

2. People on a plant-based diet have lower incidences of diseases.

3. Vegetarian diet has lower LDL cholesterol levels.

4. According to few studies, vegetarian diet has a lower risk of developing cancer.

5. It is high in fiber, complex carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, plant proteins and healthy fats which boosts metabolism.

6. People on vegetarian diet have higher energy levels.

7. This helps to prevent osteoporosis, making the bones stronger.

There are many other benefits of switching to a vegetarian diet. There could be may initial hiccups. It is not a few days breaks but a long-term move. A gradual increase of fruits and vegetables in the diet can help one to cut down on the meat intake. However, following such diet can help one to stay fit and increase their lifespan.

A balanced diet is a must for healthy weight loss. It is important to get the right proportion of nutrients without consuming meat or fish. Processed and junk foods like wafers, cookies, biscuits and instant noodle must be avoided. The highly processed foods are low in nutrients and can lead to overeating.
