I had my hysterectomy in 1999 and recently went to see my gyn Dr due to pain with intercourse. He referred me to a woman's specialty group. The dr there said I would have to have surgery. On January 30th I had surgery and the Dr nicked my bladder. He said it was fixed. However two weeks after the surgery I was not only urinating blood I was also going out around the catheter so I went back in and he said it was normal for blood and the other part was due to healing. I ended up in the ER at least the times before seeing him again. I hurt so bad where catheter was from the WE changing my catheter! Finally the Dr sent me in for a dye test to make sure my blade wasn't leaking. I went in laid totally still on the table during test everything looked fine. Had catheter removed went home. Next morning sheets were soaked! I figured it was due to medicine I was on so stopped taking it. (pain meds) had to run out buy depends because I couldn't hold my urine. This went on for over a week. Also felt urine coming out my vagina! Finally called Dr office and the nurse said come in right away. I did and yes urine was leaking out both areas. He sent me for another dye test only this time they had me move on the table and sure enough I watched it leaking. catheter went back in ugh! He had me come back in two weeks later. meanwhile I was still buying depends because catheter wasn't working alone. He kept catheter in but said I would have to have another surgery. I had surgery on April 9th. The Dr said he was going to put something like tissue between my vaginal cuff and bladder and that I would have two catheters. Well that isn't what happened! He went in through my belt found a lot if scar tissue then found my bladder ATTACHED to my vaginal cuff! He chose to leave it that way. He then went through vagina to fix the cuff and through my urethra to fix the bladder and I whole up to one catheter. I was beyond words! The catheter was removed mid May. I have done exercises to help with bladder control since I had the catheter for over 3 months however I am in excruciating pain with urinating and bowl movements. I am 42 and in depends! Frustrated doesn't begin to explain! I don't know why I am in pain....everyine says get a second opinion and I am terrified of more surgery because that Dr nicked my bladder. Not sure if sex hurts because I can't have any which causes issues of its own...... Help please I can't be the only person!

My situation is different than yours but I agree with whoever is giving you the advice to go for a second opinion. You need to do it asap! I would go to a gyn/urologist and bring all of the records, reports, and test results with you. Good luck.
