Good Evening,
I am currently unsure as to whether I could be pregnant or not. My last period started on 28th May, and usually run on a 30 day cycle.

I have some of the more "common" symptoms, such as nausia, headaches, extreme tiredness, lowered labido, food avoidance, slight cramps, lower back pain etc., etc.

Here is where the problems lie. Last week and the week before I showed negative pregnancy tests. Today, however, I have had very unusual test results. First test just had a weird smear running across it, so I tried again (with the same sample) and only the T line showed, not the control line. I thought I would give it one last go and tried again, with the same sample and this showed a weird smear across the test and a control line.

I followed the instructions correctly, and have used this brand before without any problems, but today they just seem to be very strange. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas?

I had tried a digital test last week, that showed negative. They are very expensive here where I live and can only realistic buy one of those once a month. The ones I am using at the moment are the same ones I used on my first two children, without any problems or irregularities.

Yes, it is very unusual. I thought I was seeing things on the first one, then thought maybe I did it wrong, hense I tried it two more times without a definitive answer, lol. Smile

I spoke with my doctor today and she will send me for a urine test on Thursday and if that showed negative, she wants to send me for an ultrasound.

well if you have two kids i think you are probably a pro at taking the tests Smile i think if you were pregnant it would show something by now?? the hormone builds up pretty fast after conception. i am very curious what is going on with you.. good luck with the pregnancy!

Hehe, yeah. Smile Maybe I might have just conceived more recently then I can think and had a weird long cycle, or something along those lines. I would not usually dwell on a missed period too long, but this just seems different. Other than the obvious sign of missing a period, I have totally gone off my usual habits, such as coffee and caffiene drinks, in fact, I cannot even tolerate even the smell. The other "usual" pregnancy symptoms can be explained away with something as trivial as a stomach bug or something, but to go off food/drinks so dramatically, I cannot think of anything other than pregnancy for this.

You can't use a urinalisis test multiple times. It invalidates the sample. If you were applying urine to the same test strip it's non-read. You took the tests previously with a clear negative result, I would stick with that as factual. You are experiencing pregnancy-like symptoms, go see your doctor. There could be other issues at work here.

No Wolf, not the same test, the same urine sample from a sample cup.

If the same sample was used on multiple different tests and all got strange results it was likely acorrupted sample. Something as simple as residual dish soap on the glass could have had an effect.

Still you tested last week and got a negative result. Even if you retest with the same brand and got a positive result you have a 50/50 chance of guessing which test result is correct. If you're experiencing pregnancy symptoms talk to a doc.

I love the test that spells out pregnant or not pregnant then you have no questions with the lines, they are worth the money!

I agree Wolf, I will just have to bite the bullet and meet with my doctor on Thursday. >.< I agree with you also Lsun, they are much clearer. But I really can't afford to but them very often.

Hopefully the doctor will be able to shed some light on the situation. I will come back on when I know for sure one way or the other. Thank you all. Smile
