Hey,

Home pregnancy tests are normally only able to detect the hCG hormone a few days before your missed period. Blood tests from your doctor can detect hCG sooner. The tests are the only way you will know for sure, and even with that you will have wait a bit before either will be able to detect it. I know the waiting is really hard.

Good luck.

It is unlikely but not impossible that you are pregnant.

Do you have a regular cycle? Do you know how to tell when you ovulate? In general, the window for conception falls two weeks after your period starts, which is about two weeks before it is due again. There are three or four days in the middle when you are at your most fertile. When you ovulate, there can be a dull pain on one side of your lower abdomen and an increase in discharge, which starts watery and clear, gradually turning more of a thicker, whiter colour, and then back to watery and clear. Around this time of your cycle you are more likely to conceive, that being said, although the pull-out method is really not a good means of contraception it still decreases your chances of getting pregnant. You have about a 1 in 5 chance of falling pregnant if you have unprotected sex around the time you ovulate. But some women can get pregnant at any time during their cycle. It's not likely but it can happen.

Like the previous poster said, a blood test is the only early method of finding out for certain if you are pregnant. A home pregnancy test is usually accurate around the time of your next period.

Good luck.

Try not to think about it, but at the same time just be on the look out for tender breasts, different sleeping habits and eating habits. But if you think about it all the time, you will drive yourself crazy though, trust me, I know. So just kinda make a mental note or jot something down if you notice a difference in any of these things. Other than that, take a test closer to when you think your period might be coming, it will be able to give you the best result, and don't be afraid to do several tests (the home pregnancy tests) in weeks following your first test just to be sure.

All the best!! I'm sure it will be fine Smile
