undergoing mdr tb treatment, gonna lose my right mind.

User Profile
Currently I'm undergoing mdr tb treatment. This disease completely destroyed my life. I lost my friends and my job. I have to stay away from my family. Side effects of the drugs really unbearable. And now I still cough continously eventhough I had all my drugs without day off. I feel really this is useless. I am hopeless. I think it would be better if I die. I know I shouldn't think about that. But everyday that always occupied my mind. What should I do.. I think I'm gonna lose my right mind..

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. Multi drug resistance treatment needs work up first like sputum gene xpert, and sensitivity to anti tuberculous drugs. You need to consult a good infectious disease center and let them help. Full blow isolation is not necessary, just use of some face mask to prevent droplet spread to your nearby is dvised that too in early few months, after that bacteria is out.

I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
Take care
