My spouse is currently in icu with continuous seizure activity. She is hooked up to an eeg and has been for 3 weeks. All test have been negative doctors can’t seem to find what’s causing seizures. She’s been in induced coma for the past 3 weeks and wherever doctors lower sedative meds she begins to seize according to eeg. I need help or opinions as to what may be causing seizures. She’s in one of the best hospitals for neurology in the USA. Thank you.

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. For now , seizures need to be controlled . IV lorazepam and haloperidol are used if conservative measures fail. Allso through work up will help find all the causes of seizures.

I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
