Unable to get pregnant after fibroids

User Profile
I'm 32 years old and wanting to start a family. i was told that i had fibroids at the age of 20 and had them remove less than a year ago. i have been trying to get pregant but have not really i don't know if im ovualating as i should be. my doctor test me to see if i was ovulating and told me since my cycles was regular that he is sure that im ovulating as should. he also check my tubs to see if they were block which they were not. im over weight and is wondering if this is also causing me to not get pregnant. it this point i am unsure of what to do next. what is the age where complication starts if your trying to conceive. what age is to late? my doctor told me that he does not want me to do anything else expensive, he just want me to enjoy trying. once again i have never been pregant and is trying my best to become a mom. please let me know your imput. thanks Ready to make Babies Young.

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

If you are trying to have a baby, then even if your cycles are regular, then also you must know whether you are ovulating properly and whether the graffian follicles reach the mature size. This can be done by simple ultrasounds near your ovulation times.

The other thing is to keep a pillow below your hips during intercourse to increase the pelvic angle. This will increase the pool of semen at the cervix. The next thing is to remain in this position for 10-15 minutes after.

Also it is important to check whether your husband’s semen analysis is fine. Hope this helps. Take care!
