Type of Doctor to See / night sweats, yellow stool...

Hi I am trying to determine which type of doctor to see regarding my symptoms and the way I've been feeling. I am a 27 year old female. My problem started a few months ago by starting to have night sweats, so bad that I would have to change my clothes and sheets. More recently I've been feeling very fatigued, Itchy, having headaches, stomach aching, water retention so bad that everything leaves imprints/marks on me. Last week my bowels changed and I started having yellow stool and feeling worse. I have a very small lump in my neck, maybe a swollen lymph node? My stomach feels like it has extra water or swollen and puffy over my left ribs and upper stomach area. My temperature has been 99.4 to most recent today 101.3. I do have a history of H-Pylori too.

It is usually best to start with your primary care physician. He/she can do an evaluation and obtain baseline labs. Then, depending upon that evaluation, he/she can refer you to the proper specialist.

You should probably keep a temperature journal until you see your physician. Take your temperature three times a day, at the same time each day. You can also record your feeling at the same time. A "fever curve" is very helpful in determining the etiology of an elevated temperature. Different problems cause elevated temperatures at different times of the day. Again, it can be very helpful, even making the diagnosis is some cases.

Good luck. Hope you feel better soon.
