Type 1 diabetic after type 2 ?

User Profile
I'm s type 2 diabetic. At the endocrinologist visit I was told my pancreas is not working and now I am a type I diabetic. Is this possible? If so, what happens next?

Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Type 2 diabetes can not turn into type 1 diabetes. Both have different etiologies. Please clarify the statement as its unlikely that an endocrinologist would say or mean that.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
