TSH level and Medication

I have been taking Levothyroxine 0.150 MG one dose per day. I just had a TSH test and my level was <0.05 uIV/ML with the range at 0.47 to 5.01 uIV/ML. My Doctor wants me to reduce my dosage as follows: 1 dose on first day 1/5 dose (1/2 tablet) second day alternating every two days. Return for new blood test in six to eight weeks. Reducing my dose seems to be backward to me is this correct?

If you have a very low TSH, and you are otherwise feeling well, then it may be reasonable to try and lower your levothyroxine dose a bit.
