Trying to delay my period before a weekend away with my Fiancee.

If I am not currently on birth control can I delay my period by a couple of days by taking birth control. I used to do this in the past when I was taking birth control. I'm just not sure if this will shoot me in the foot and cause my period to start a little early. I can't seem to find a staright answer to this. Can anyone help me with this??

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
If you want to delay your periods, then discuss with your gynecologist about getting started on pills for postponement of periods (these are different than regular birth control pills). If taken correctly and as instructed, you can successfully delay your periods for as long as you wish without getting into trouble. Do not delay your visit to your gynecologist.
Take care.
