Trying to concieve, I'm bummed, maybe test too early

I'm 36, been off birth control since August of 2015. This last ovulation time, which was last week, we were actively trying to conceive our first child. I'm not due for my period till next week but I'm esperincing some light bleeding periodically and even a tiny bit after intercourse. I read about implantation bleeding, so of course I get excited and I took a test which resulted in a big fat negative. I'm bummed. But did I maybe test too early? And should I be experiencing any other symptoms by now. I feel more tired and ready for a nap mid day, but it could also all be in my head.

Thanks for submitting your query here.
A pregnancy test is designated for performing after your missed cycle date.Yes,you have done it a bit earlier and you have to repeat it only if you donot get your next cycle.
Implantation bleeding doesnot occur just after intercourse. It occurs in fewer woman followong conception,6 to 12 days after ovulation and period occurs 14 days after ovulation.
So, if you have bleeding just after sex and thereafter, that is not probably implantation
bleeding,may be general postcoital spotting.
However, wait for the date of commencement of your next cycle and you will get your answer then.
