Trying to conceive after removing my impanon

Hello, I had the implant out nearly a week ago, yesturday I started my period which is very heavy and painful but that's the usual for me anyway.
However I am planning to get pregnant, I have bought ovulation tests and I am just wondering do I test ten days from the start of my period to see whether I'm ovulating. My main concern is that I'm not sure whether this is a proper period or just because of the withdrawal of hormones, so I am not entirely sure whether I will ovulate at all in the next 10-15 days, what do you think?
