User Profile
I have been treated for trich 3 times and still having discharge. The first two times I was given 4 tab of Metronidazole 500mg to take all at once. The third time I was given 4 tab of Tinidazole 500mg to take all at once. I have not had any sexual contact with anyone at all! The symptomns start coming back after my period. Also I am on Sprintec...This is so annoying I just want to get rid of trich. What is going on??

Hi, and thanks for your query on eHealth forum!

You have probably developed metronidazole resistance. This needs to be treated with higher and longer doses of metronidazole. Also, you may need to stop Sprintec while you are on treatment and avoid sex completely. Get your blood sugar checked. Also, improving the vaginal flora may help. Please consult your gynecologist regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!
