tourette syndrom-urinary and bowl problems

my son is sixteen and has touretts syndrome, and ocd, he has a problem with going number two all the time and has terrible pain in his rectom now he has a problem with urinating, he tries to go nothing comes out.puts it away and urinates himself.school is becoming a problem. could this be tourettes related

Is he on any medications for his problems? If so, have you ruled them out? Some of the medications used for OCD have constipation as possible side effect- it could similarly effect urination although this would be an extreme reaction. If medication is the culprit, altering the dosage or switching medications could possibly fix the problem. At any rate, your doctor should be told about his incontinence and constipation since medical intervention will most likely be necessary.

thank you very much for your response, His meds have been ruled out Keppra xr 500 mg tabs. He takes 4 of these at night,This medication is wonderfull for tourettes, people look at me funny when I say he has it.I have noticed when I gave him a laxitive his tourettes got bad. so did the ocd. and he also says there is no differnce when he pee,s. He is under doctor care the head cheif pediatric neurologist of childrens hospital of detroit.Im always looking for input from others to make his life as enjoyable as possible. knowledge is power.thank you again for your time
