I noticed on Wednesday that I have a tiny bright red lump on the left side of my scalp, about 3 inches above my ear. It doesn't hurt and it hasn't gotten bigger since then. I'm hoping it's not skin cancer since i try to avoid the sun and wear sunscreen. I made an appointment for the doctor on monday but I was wondering what you guys thought.

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern.
Red lumps are usually harmless. Differentials are sebaceous cysts, cherry hemangioma, epidermoid cyst or telengiectasia.
I would suggest you to have monthly
self inspection of the lesion.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
