these two doctors will soon be posting a position paper with
case histories on the deadly effects of aspartame on the internet. according to the conference of the american college of
physicians, "we are talking about a plague of neurological diseases directly
caused by the use of this deadly poison." herein lies the problem: there were congressional hearings
when aspartame was included 100 different products and strong
objection was made concerning it's use. Since this initial hearing,
there have been two subsequent hearings and still, nothing has been
done. the drug and chemical lobbies have very deep pockets. Sadly, monsanto's patent on aspartame has expired!!
there are now over 5,000 products on the market that contain this deadly chemical and there will be thousands more
introduced. everybody wants a "piece of the aspartame pie." I assure you
that monsanto, the creator of aspartame, knows how deadly it
is. And isn't it ironic that monsanto funds, among others,
the american diabetes association, the american dietetic association and the conference of the american college of
physicians? This has been recently exposed in the new york
times. these cannot criticize any additives or convey their link to monsanto because they take money from the food industry and
are required to endorse their products. senator howard metzenbaum wrote and presented a bill that
would require label warnings on products containing aspartame,
especially regarding pregnant women, children and infants. The bill would
also institute independent studies on the known dangers and the
problems existing in the general population regarding seizures, changes
in brain chemistry, neurological changes and behavioral symptoms. The
bill was killed. It is known that the powerful drug and chemical lobbies are responsible for this, letting loose the hounds of disease and death on an
unsuspecting and uninformed public.

Hi Dale123. I did not read your entire post since it was so long. But I do know that there has been no verifiable link between the consumption of artificial sweeteners and MS. Just like many things, it is fine when consumed in moderation. The only exception would be certain individuals with a genetic disease called PKU (phenylketonuria). They test infants for this at birth.

I "Snoped" your claim about aspartame. Here is the link to the article.:

Here is the link to the article.:

suffering grand mal seizures and other neurological disturbances due to
the use of nutrasweet. unfortunately, it is not always easy to convince people that
aspartame is to blame for their child's illness. Stevia, which, which is
a sweet herb, not a manufactured additive, helps in the metabolism of
sugar, which would be ideal for diabetics. It has now been
approved as a dietary supplement by the fda. It is known that for many years
the fda outlawed this true sweet food," due to their loyalty to
monsanto chemical company."

these two doctors will soon be posting a position paper with
case histories on the deadly effects of aspartame on the internet. according to the conference of the american college of
physicians, "we are talking about a plague of neurological diseases directly
caused by the use of this deadly poison." herein lies the problem: there were congressional hearings
when aspartame was included 100 different products and strong
objection was made concerning it's use.

Per haps you missed what I was saying.. it gives the affects same as MS and some people 'feel like they have MS' thats why MS is usually misdiagnosed

Yes, perhaps you are right, I did miss that part. My apologies. Like I said, I did not read the entire post since it was very long and I had heard of this previously. But, on the other hand, there is still no documentation that supports that theory either.

There are established guidelines that doctors use to confirm a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. This includes tests that accurately measure effects of the disease on the brain and spinal cord. Also, a pattern of specific neurological "episodes" has to be established for a diagnosis of MS to be confirmed. Some doctors may just freely through the diagnosis out there as a possibility. Even though my neurologist knew that I had MS, he never mentioned it until he had all of the facts that he needed. And it didn't take him long to gather the correct information to support his diagnosis. Don't get me wrong, I am not completely disabled; nor is it "obvious" that I have MS.

I just want people to get accurate, medically confirmed information when it comes to MS. I have MS and I drink diet sodas everyday. But only 1 or 2. I did not drink them before I began having neurological symptoms. I discovered that I have an undesirable reaction to sugar (and simple carbohydrates in general) and that is why I began drinking diet sodas in place of the regular sugared ones. That is something that I learned in the midst of all of my mysterious symptoms.

Everyone is different. Especially when it comes to MS. A change in diet definitely helped my symptoms overall. But that included omitting sugar, which made me turn to the sugar substitutes aspartame and diet sodas. I am not endorsing the use of sugar substitutes since (refer to my post above) there are people who are unable to consume them. The definite positive long term effect for me has been due to a change in lifestyle which includes and change in my diet; and since my diagnosis ,FDA approved disease-modifying therapies for multiple sclerosis.

I hope your sister continues to get better, and stays well. Sincerely, I do. I am a nurse with MS. I truly feel it is meant for me to care for people. I just tend to get a little guarded when it comes to information dealing with MS and some of the myths and opinions behind its cause. I really wish it were as simple as some people want to believe, because we would have a cure by now.

If your sister continues to have the problems you described, I ask you to please encourage her to continue seeing a neurologist and find out what is the medical cause. If it is not MS, then it may be another neurological or autoimmune disease that needs to be treated. These diseases can be very devastating, as your sister has already had a taste of this.

Take care and thanks for sharing your sister's experience with us. - T
