I have been tanning to get a base tan before spending time outside this summer. I have noticed a brown patch on my forehead. Reminds me of a dirty patch on my forehead. After I've been out of the tanning bed for awhile it is not as noticeable unless I look at it at the right angle. What could this possibly be?

You are not alone! A few weeks ago I too noticed this brown mark on my forehead. Today I saw a photo I took during Memorial Day Weekend and that mark was noticeable, since my face was at an angle it seems that the sun shined right onto my face! Anyway, I am trying to figure out what this might be....I hope someone responds.

brown spot on foerhead.
I started to notice the spot when my friends started asking me what happened to my forehead. It looks almost bruiselike and if i stretch it(my skin) out it appears to have tiny bumps in it, it doesnt hurt and sometimes it is dry feeling. i dont tan i dont have children and in not expecting a baby. i also do not take hormone therapy or birth controll. i dont know what to do. makeup does nothing for it.

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and I understand your concern.
It seems fungal infection. Use topical antifungal like clotrimazole.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
