I had my blood drawn and the nurse put on clean gloves but then threw away another's alcohol swab and the cotton ball she uses to dry the alcohol. She then proceeded to draw my blood. Should I be concerned about contamination since her gloves touched another's items before drawing my blood? Thank you!

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. You are worrying too much, your nurse did a good job and there is minimum chances of contamination. Stop worrying.

I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
