Scared, Confused, And Feel Hopeless (Page 2)

My hubby and I traveled to the south of spain several years ago. We really enjoyed the visit. The costa del sol has tons of british pubs, which we weren't expecting and didn't really go to, and we couldn't find tapas near our hotel. Seville was our favorite place. Seeing gibralter and the monastery that supported columbus were highlights as well. I love the accents in andalucia.

I still tease my husband about his quest to find a margarita mix in costa del sol. We were staying at a place with a kitchen, so we went shopping for drinks and food for light meals. In the liquor store, my husband found some tequila and immediately thought, "let's make margaritas." of course, the clerks at the store didn't know what "margarita mix" is. I told my husband that we were in spain, not mexico. Laughing he insisted that mexico and spain were so closely tied that spain must have margaritas. Rolling Eyes so we went to about a half dozen more stores, big and small, and none had margarita mix. Finally, we settled for some lime soda. Confused

He's very good spirited about it. I'm so happy i'm married to him.

We are actually only about 35 minutes south of seville. We do a lot of shopping up there. I think it was just really hard for me to go from living in freezing north dakota to living here in spain. We had lived in germany before and though europe is europe but spain is another world completely.

Did you have any sangria while you were there?

mmmmm..... I luv me some sangria!!! I had gone on a trip to mexico once when I was in high school and there is no drinking age down there. So my bro and my friend and I went and hit up the bars. We asked for a strawberry daquri and they had no idea what we were talking about. For some reason I though that daquri's were like margarittas - pretty common. Nope!

Oh, yes, I had sangria. I didn't taste any of the fortified wines they make there, but I had plenty of sangria. I was amused that it was poured out of a tap at some places.

I've often wondered how I would hold up if I took a siesta everyday.

The best thing about sangria is it is so easy to make. I honestly don't know how they do it here. Work half the day, have siesta and then work some more. Once I got to the siesta part of the day, that would be it for me.
