Very true, you CAN get pregnant while you are on your period.

As for breastfeeding, a lot of people use this as a contraception method and although it does slow down returning periods, you can still get pregnant.

Extremely eHealthy
There is something called pre-cum which contain a small amount of sperm so you can still fall pregant while using this method as other users have said.

This actually isn't entirely true. There is no sperm in pre-ejaculate. This is one of the bigger sexual myths I've ever seen. It doesn't even come from the same place on a man's body that semen comes from. The only risk here is the fact that if he ejaculated previously that day, sperm from that ejaculation can cling to the walls of the urethra and be rinsed out by the pre-cum. However, if a man urinates in between sexual acts, his urethra should be cleared of all residue. Although you CAN get pregnant from coitus interruptus (the pull-out method), it probably won't be from pre-cum, but rather, he accidentally did ejaculate while still inside the vagina.

And OP, this "non-method" is actually 96% effective if used perfectly. That rivals condoms at 98%. Sexually active people still should refrain from using this method solely, because it requires a large amount of control on the man's part, but please, OP, learn all your facts and stop relying on scare tactics.

Spotting early period?
I had unprotected sex, my period came about a week or more early, (about a week and a half after the fact) and light/spotting first three days then only semi bad the last two. It's usually really heavy for three days, light for one then heavy then done, 5-6 day period.
Opinions?

Because the pre-cum is as fertile as him blowing in you. And in some cases there's nearly as much pre that comes out as when he releases. And almost every guy pre-cums.

So I know that this most likely isn't true, but I heard that a man can only produce vital sperm ever 72 hours.
Is this true?

Thank you sooo much for sharing these truths with girls, boys, women and men on this site !

One thing you forgot... anal sex : always use compatible protection (condom) because women have gotten pregnant by the after leakage of semen from the anal opening, to their vaginal opening. Therefore: anal is NOT a form of birth control if not practised safely -plus "leakage" carries STI's and bacteria from your anus to your privates (yes : ewww).

i agree with most of these, however, numbers 6 and 9 i disgaree with. sperm cannot survive more than a millisecond in the open air. number 9- how can someone get pregnant if she hasn't had her period? you need to ovulate to get pregnant.

missed period or late period???
hi there,

I still don't have my period. My last period was July 18-22, 2009. My husband and I had unprotected sex, and usually he pull-out. I don't have any signs of pregnancy like breast tenderness. I still haven't try a home pregnancy test, i might try this week. Do you think I am pregnant? Last month we climb mount rainer and went to wild waves, ans I was super uncomfortable after the rides. Do you think this also the cause of my missed period?

My period was from July 30th to August 6th. I had unprotected sex Aug 20th-25th. I started my period again August 27th to Sept 3rd. It was my first time. I had gone in to the doctors to check for std, but we only found out that I had yeast infection. I took some medicines for that, starting Aug 27th. After my period ended on Sept 3rd, I had a white discharge, and I was going in to see the doctor again, but then the discharge stopped. I'm usually on a 28 day cycle. So I calculated and figured that I should have my next period starting Sept 24th. However, I started spotting Sept 19th to Sept 22th with dark red or brown color, and then had my period right after. I've never had a long spotting period before. In fact, I've never had an early period before. My last two recent periods haven't been clumpy as before, and they have been lighter in color, especially with this september period. I didn't have crampings with these two periods at all, which is weird because I usually do have cramps. My blood is not dark red, but it's like light red or pink. Today is Sept 26th and I still have some spots left. Actually, the last few days, the blood wasn't much, it's about average, but color is different. Aside from that, I've been gagging a lot every morning when I brush my teeth. One of the days, I actually ended up vomiting the coffee that I had that morning. I sleep ALL the time. I got really dizzy at work once, even though I had eaten before coming to work. I lost appetite b/c I couldn't even eat my favorite foods. The dark areas of my areolas seem bigger in diameter, not to an extreme, but definitely different. But honestly, I didn't measure my areolas before I had sex, so I can't accurately compare. I have taken hpt several times, but I got neg results. I also have been very stressed out with everything in my life though. So I don't know what this is due to. Stress? Infection? Pregnancy? Plus, it's been about a month since I had unprotected sex, so I don't know if it would show anything. I don't know what's going on, but I know that something is different.

thanks for the info i just got one question cuz imsure.
what does blue veins in your breats mean.
bc some ppl told me its a sure sign of when your prego.

It's not a SURE sign. Blue veins are what help your milk develope. But I wouldn't count on looking at your boobs for a sign of pregnancy. I have, and it doesn't help. Because pregnant or not you will have blue veins there. Test at home or go to the dr and request a pregnancy blood test.

GL!

If kept warm at body temperature (like on the skin or in a warm test tube), sperm remain motile for several hours. Inside the female reproductive tract, they can live for up to 7 days. Sperm are very sensitive to temperature and moisture and will eventually die outside the body, but since each ejaculate may contain as many as 750 million sperm, and it only takes one sperm to result in pregnancy, precautions are essential. Ejaculation anywhere near the vagina, without condom use, should be a reason to consider emergency contraception. http://www.teengrowth.com/index.cfm?action =info_advice&ID_Advice=2484
And you CAN get pregnant before your first period. Ovulation occurs BEFORE a period, thus you have to OVULATE to get a period. Ovulation is what causes the lining of your uterus to become thick in the first place. It is also when you release an egg. If said egg is not fertilized, you go on to SHED that lining, thus you have your period.

On another note, to all asking under this thread if they are pregnant or not:
1. Make a new thread, it will get answered faster.
2. Take a TEST. If the test is negative but you feel it should read otherwise, talk to your doctor and ask for a blood pregnancy test. A blood pregnancy test is more accurate and more sensitive to the pregnancy hormone (HcG) than a home-pregnancy test. If you get a negative blood pregnancy test, there is little chance you are pregnant but you can always ask for a transvaginal ultrasound to be sure.

The first day of my last menstruation was Oct. 16 2009. I stopped taking a french birth control called "mélodia" about 1 1/2 weeks ago I had taken it for over a year. I am american and live in france! The first day of my last menstruation was Oct.16 2009. I have a 28 day cycle. A week after I had a day that spotting of brown discharge that eventually changed to a red then faded away later the same day. Then I started having cramping, and felt really dizzy. I was suppose to start my menstruation that friday Nov.13 2009 but I didnt instead I had light white discharge coming out for a few days. Today I have sore nipples and light blue veins. Also cramping and low back pains and the feeling I want to vomit but never do... What does this mean? And what does all this mean?

Thank you
