Dull Presure At Lower Left Rib

I've been having a dull pressure centered around the lower two left ribs for about 2 months. I'm 39 and have been smoking on and off for about 2 years. The pressure is more evident during the middle of the day and when walking. I went to my family doctor who felt is was muscles spasms and prescribed muscle relaxers; however, i'm ending the dossage and still feeling the discomfort. Has anyone experienced this type of symptom and was it associated with smoking/lung condition?

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and I understand your concern.
It could be due to muscous retention or costochondritis. I would suggest you to have chest xray to sort it out. Start analgesic and bronchodilators and look for the response.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
Take care
