After reading all of these posts I'm growing more concerned about my wife. She recently found a lump on the back of her head on the right side. She gets really bad headaches and has suffered from migraines for the past 15 year. But this lump surfaced last Friday after she had a coughing spell. I'm setting up an appointment for her asap.

I found the exact same lump on the left side a couple of months ago. Haven't gone to the doctors or anything yet just assumed it was nothing but I've noticed that I have been getting lots of headaches lately... Time to get checked out!

If you have a swollen throught/armpits, loss of appetite, fatigue, headaches or you feel drowsy as well it might be mono. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/P MH0001617/

I had a lump on the left side of my head that hurt bad. I searched the internet and found out it was a scalp infection. I did not take any medication I use Ted's remedy maybe it will help someone out. Here is the website. It took a couple of days but it is gone now.

earthclinic.com/CURES/scalp_infections.htm l

I used the Apple Cider Vinegar one. Hope it helps you all out.

Painful lump at base of skull on one side
I have had both a swollen lymph node, which went away after infection was cleared up, and a misplaced or subluxated atlas. The atlas caused me years of pain and headaches until I was able to find a chiropractor who practiced upper cervical specific manipulation within the Palmer method. They are difficult to find but it is worth trying. After years of debilitating headaches I am pain free with chiropractic maintenance and exercise. No drugs and no surgery.

I got a lump on the lower left side back of my head a week ago. It is very painful to the touch. Feels like needles poking me. I thought it was a ingrown hair or something. I could'nt bear it anymore and went to the doctor. Found out I had a middle ear infection (otitis media) that cause my mastoid bone to be infected. This is called Mastoiditis. Mastoiditis is a bacterial infection of the mastoid bone. The bone sits behind the ear that consist of air spaces that help drain the middle ear. Im taking antibiotics right now (Amox-Clav 875mg) and Ibuprofen 600mg for the pain. Its starting to reduce the lump but at a slow pace. I think I got the ear infection from swimming underwater. See your doctor first before you do anything foolish like I did. I hope this information helps you out.

hey guys, i'm having some similar issues. i have a weird bump (feels like a fluid filled sack) on the left side of my head just above my ear. i've had it for at least 4 or 5 years with no problems. i went to a massage therapist and she said it was a calcium build-up so i didn't think too much of it. but just recently, it's been hurting if i wear a headband or my glasses (the bump is directly behind/above my ear so the glasses/headband lands right on top of it) and when it is touched it hurts really really bad! i've also been getting these really sharp intense stabbing pains running through my head - feels like hot acid is being injected through my veins Sad i've been to hospital for this issue a few times but they refuse to give me anymore MRIs because i've had one done in like, 2005! *sigh* anybody have any luck on figuring things out?

Lumps on the back of my head
I have suffered for the last several months with swollen lumps in the back of my skull...I went to a neurologist and he told me these "lumps" are where several nerves converge and that some people experience pain and that they are "benign" and no cause for worry. He said typically pain relievers don't help but that they can give me injections in the sight to make it more comfortable to sleep. I too have had the dizziness and some facial numbing...I also have had eye bleeds and have been told that it is all coinsedence...I sometimes find it difficult to believe!
