irregular periods, facial hair

I have been reading up on pcos since I seen an article in a magazine. The description was me down to a t. Since my teens my periods have been irregular from every 8 - 6 weeks and on the rare occasion it will be the 28 days.

I have noticable facial hair and its now showing on my abdomen. As you would ,i panicked and shaved it off - now its alot worse. It is really getting me down.

I am too embarrassed to go to my gp.Last year I miscarried - the doctors say it was a missed miscarraige.I am worried that this is down to pcos

it defently sounds like PCOS get your Docter to do a blood test to check for it, and posibly an ultersound. the main teatment id the contesrpive pill which will reduce the visable symptoms and give you reguler pirods. if you are trying to conseve there are probaly other teatments to incres ovulation and probality of conseption. witht he body hair avoid shaving as this will make it more noticable, if it raly bothers you try hair removal creams as it will cores the hair to come make finer and lighter.

also do talk to your docter as they will be able to track down the real problem.

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and I understand your concern.
These signs and symptoms are consistent with PCOS. I would suggest you have TSH,prolactin,
LH and FSH assay to sort out the problem.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
