Anxiety and shakiness
Hi..I have been diagnosed with anxietty and am on low dose of anxiety medicine/. For the most part it has helped with the more extreme symptoms. I could not sit stiill or at one point i could not stand still to have a conversation, i woulld feel so anxious like i wanted to jump out of my own skin. it was totally dibilitating.

Although I can function again, drive placees, be social, back to my normal routine, i have recently been having weird shaky uneasy feeling in left chest, upper pectoral muscle area as well as through left arm, shoulder. its driving me nuts. i feel like its shaky but you cant see it from the outside. this could be anxiety as it does often come out in physical symptoms

stilll i find myself wondering if its something else? i have had soar breast often lately and the other day i saw a commercial where a lady said she was shaky one day and found she had 4th stage breast cancer in the bones. of course that has stuck in my mind and like people witht anxiety, we think we let it gio but it may be in my subconscious.

my heat is fine, had almost every test you can take for heart since my father died young.

can this be simple anxiety? it does not feel like the adrenaline i have experienced going through my left side i had that before with the anxiety?

How old are you? I'm a 20 yr old male healthy for the most part. I have been having stabbing/squeezing pains in my chest and pains that feel like im getting my blood pressure checked in my arms. Everyone thinks it's anxiety but the only reason i feel stressed is becasue the pain. The pain that you are describing sounds more like muscles, maybe try taking an ibeprofen when you feel the pain and see if that helps.

Yoo people names age 20, I've suffered with the chest back and side pains from anxiety and panic attacks for about 6 years anslol only recently I've found a way for me 2 control it, as you know when anxiety or panic attacks are about 2 happen you can feel a drop in your heart almost, and then the attack happens, what I tend 2 do is slow my breathing and then laugh at myself because I know I'm not gonna die lol that seems 2 help me stop both verry quickly Smile just mind over matter people, be alright

Going Crazy or anxiety Please read this and help me!!! Please
Wow!!! All these symptoms I have experienced and I'm 23 years old. As of February 2012. I have been experiencing rapid heart beat as if I were to have a heart attack and shortness of breath. My mom took me to the emergency room and the doctors said it was anxiety. He prescribed me zanax for a few days and told me to see my doctor. I haven't been the same since. It is now may I have been to the emergency room 3x and my primary doctor 3x's now they think I'm crazy because I don't believe what they are telling me I've been demanding a second opinion. my symptoms are insomnia shortness of breath headaches, pain shooting through my head soress in the ribs upper back pain chest pain sometimes on the right and left side sweaty palms pain in my arm chills tingling in the fingertips tiredness roaming thoughts nervousness maybe more...I've had ekg blood work x-rays. I seriously believe they are missing something. I have a 21 month old daughter, I'm a single parent and I'm in college. Yes, I am stressed at times but I could be calm and just experience chest pain then it leads to nervousness or when I think about my breathing then I will lose my rhythm of breathing and have shortness of breath. I've also experiencing on a daily basic when I eat something I feel as if I have air in my throat and need to burp but I cant then my stomach sounds like a jet flying through it. Omeprezole doesn't work and then my doctor prescribe me hydroxezine which doesnt do anything. Now I'm on fluoxetine (Prozac). It calms me a lot but boy did I have the worst panic attack side affect. And I now suffer from insomnia as of May 2012. My birthday is on the 19. I always feel as if I'm going to die and not make it to my birthday or not be able to see my daughter grow up. This is also leading to depression and giving up. Not suicide. Just like a whatever happens happens kind of thing I also am afraid now at times of leaving my house. I also stopped the fluoxetine because I experienced hallucinations. When I went to sleep I dreamed I was swimming in my room and my bed was the diving board. I maybe experience these symtoms everyday to everyother day. I always afraid now. I was never like this it was just all of a sudden kind of thing. Crazy right but my parents think I'm a hyperchondriac, and I think I'm going crazy too. Does anyone have a diagnosis??? nurse

Hi, rskylar2010

You should check the muscle of your neck and shoulders also. I think your stress(both from life and heart burn)causes your muscles to tighten up. And it is pulling down your head and it squeezes on your nervous sytems. You must work on eliminating the gerd(no soda, no coffee, no acidic drinks (oj) and food, and take Prevacid (Lansoprazole)) Gerd put stress on your body.
If it is your muscle, tell your Dr to give you muscle relaxer, and prescribe you to massage therapist and (chiropractor). Pick your Chiro very carefully.

Anxiety
Hi ameyo - I suffer from anxiety too although manage to keep it under control most of the time, especially as I know it's not going to kill me!! But, for the last 10 days I've been getting little shooting pains just below my ribs which has now turned into a constant ache around the sides of my ribs and my upper back just below my shoulders. I keep telling myself it's anxiety and not to worry, but then panic again when I think it could be something serious. I then end up googling my symptoms and scare myself half to death!! Previously the only anxiety related symptoms I've had are dizziness, headaches, tingling/burning arms, so I've not experienced this chest/back problem before, but maybe the anxiety is just presenting itself in a different way??? When I wake up I feel fine, which is kind of telling me that my body has relaxed and as the day goes on I start to ache again. I'm telling myself that if it was something serious, it would be constant, day and night? I am a full time working mum with a 22 month old very active boy so maybe I am a little anxious without realising!! Earlier this year, I had lots of dizziness, almost 24/7 and was finding it hard to function with work, home etc but then my Doctor ran some tests and found out that I was very aneamic (due to very heavy periods, ie, blood loss) which apparently doesn't help oxygen get to the brain and other areas of the body too well. You say you have had some tests, but have they checked your iron levels? I hope you and all others on this thread get better soon and either overcome their anxiety or learn to deal with it. Since talking to people about it, it's so surprising how many of us are suffering with some form of anxiety - good to know we're not alone!

Anxiety
Hi Ameyo - it def sounds like stress is the issue with us, especially you with 2 small children, but obviously I'm not a doctor so def check it out! I think it is hard to believe that it is stress when you don't necessarily feel stressed out but I think being busy all day and hardly resting (which is the case with children) results in getting stress symptoms. My sharp pains in my ribs are pretty much gone now but I'm left with a mild back ache so I'm hoping if it is stress it's working itself out of me and will soon be gone!!! The head pains I used to get were quite weird, they wouldn't be a normal type headache, they would also come and go and not actually be that painful, almost like something flat was being pushed against my head which then made me feel a bit lightheaded - all very weird! On Fri, ask your doc if he is able to refer you to an anxiety workshop - I went on one earlier this year - it was one evening per week for 6 weeks and it was really interesting and focused on how you can combat your anxiety by diverting your attention to something else - I tried reading a lot and it really helped! Just an idea ....

Hey guys , for the past couple of weeks I have been experiencing sharp chest pains, pains in my ribs and dull neck and back pain, a burning
Feeling and abit of dizziness. I automatically thought the worst and looked on the Internet and it just got a lot worse , I tried to put things into perspective and think to myself that I'm a young health male who eats right and exercises , try calming yourself down and think to your self , I found that it helps. I'm really encouraged to see that I'm not the only one going through an anxiety period. I'm going my doctor next week just to confirm things but I'm fairly confident that I'm just going through a rough patch . The only thing I can't put my finger on is that my family has a history of heart problems which scares me ! also I never started to get anxious until I starting experiencing these pains. hope you all find a way to cope !!

anxiety
hi everyone,
i thank everyone for giving there story because i have been suffering all of the same symptoms for a few months now, i went to a hypnotherapist and it stopped some of the fidgeting but i still have the chest ache, rib aches and often feels like my heart flutters a bit.. i have been to hospital and to the doctors but they say my blood pressure is perfect so they put it down to anxiety, my first attack was random and im finding it really hard to deal with it at the moment because my partner is in afghanistan serving.. i find i get through alot easier but i wish it would go away. i constantly think im going to have a heart attack or stroke and causes the anxiety to come up. im 24 and would just love to get rid of this horrible thing.

Hi all, Ive had anxiety/panic attacks for the last 14yrs, which have been fairly under control.
this time last yr my dad was in hospital and after a big battle he passed away, I started gettin heart palpatations but put it down to my diet of coffee and smoking but a yr on and they havent gone, ive also had a pain across my back and chest which has intensified (coincidently at the same time as havin a chest infection) so of course in my head i have a serious life threatening condition!
ive seen my doc. he didnt mention anxiety but he said that he wasnt worried due to my age! i know people not much older that have suddenly died from natural causes so that was not what i wanted to hear!
I dont feel stressed or anxious but it wouldnt be a huge surprise if i was as its been a pretty tough 12 months.
im goin on holiday in a week without medication (ive been twice whilst on citraprolam) If i do have a genuine heart/lung problem how would a flight affect that? would alttitude make a difference? im so worried already that im dreading how much ll be worried on the day! also if i push my back where the pain mainly is it eases and i can breathe easier. the pain comes an goes throughout the day an can be anywhere upper back or chest so would that fit the anxiety diagnosis? any help greatfully received!!

have been having anxiety problems the last two years or so, and for the most part have a handle on it. Today I get this discomfort in the my left shoulder, that I attempt to ignore. So I sit down at my computer and my neck and upper shoulders start getting tight and I start feeling very dizzy (like I have to go lay down). So I go upstais and do some breathing which does seem to help fo a little while.
Then my hands and arms are numb and my neck and throat feel very tight. My heart is going fast but imo not that fast. I am sweating a little.

It has been a few hours and all the symptoms, but some mild back pain and some tightness in my neck ,are gone

could this just have been a very severe anxiety attack? (btw i do have an appointment to see my doc tomorrow)

I am struggling with aches and pains and have been for 7 months. I have sharp shooting pains on the lest side of my chest, pains in ribs off and on, dull ache like muscle soreness all over chest and shoulders and back. Exray and blood tests and heart monitoring shows nothing odd. Doctor says its anxiety but I am terrified it is more. I also experience restricted breathing and shortness of breath. Is that common?

Hi everyone! I have the exact same symptoms you are describing. I was diagnosed with general anxiety last month shortly after my grandpa had a minor heart attack. I was and still am so scared that I will have a heart attack. My doctor wants to put me on lexapro but I am trying natural remedies first because I'd rather not be on a prescription. I went to my local health food store and bought chewable pharma-GABA tablets and EPA fish oil pills which I take 2 of twice a day. They both seem to be working. I also drink 3 cups of red raspberry tea a day as the lady at the health food store said that it is very good for overall health, digestion, and stress management for women.

I have been seeing a psychologist too which helps a little. I was feeling so good the last few weeks.. Very positive about life and whatnot but these past few days I have been experiencing my anxiety pains again which is for lack of better words, annoying! I guess my issue is I'm looking for a quick fix and there is none!

Just be patient! Xox

I have all the symptoms that everyone above has. They are very scary. I have seen the cardiologist about it thinking there was something wrong with my heart. Turned out to be a pulled muscle on my back and shoulder that is giving me that chest pain. I.pulled my muscle 3 months ago opening the garage door, but ever since then ive notice my anxiety has gotten worst. Dr. Says it is all stress that I need to relax. What I dont understand is that if it is stress, anxiety, depression or whatever how come doctor does not have any solution for any of this things. I have seen so many doctors and spend a lot of money I finally decided to go to accupuncture and chiropractor. That has helped more than anything atleast now I have more control when an anxiety attack wants to happen.
