No its rare! Most are fine and healthy if they dont get it done, so why put a baby through pain if it isnt necessary, thats all im saying. I love my baby too much to hurt it for no really good reason.

no allie that's not all you said, you also said we are crazy and are child abusers for doing it.

Nobody here is saying you're an idiot for not having it done to protect your child later in life.. Are we? So stop this ridicules argument!

In my opinion and others probably, it is child abuse and it should be illegal unless its necessary because of infection or whatever. Its causing pain to a baby for no really good reason. Its so cruel, you only do it because its in the bible, thats where it comes from, dont do something to hurt your baby for the sake of an old religious tradition!

You know what, it does say it in the bible and it is because of religion to some people and culture for others, but I remember reading somewhere on ehealth about men's health and many men who were complaining not only beacuse of infection that they had to get it done later in life but also because sex was painful!

It is very common to get infected especially if they do not know how to clean it properly and many young boys don't take the time to do that!!! They would rather play!

you have no clue why I chose to circumcised my boys??? Did I ever say it was because of religious views? Absolutely not!

If you haven't clued in to why I had my boys done, then you obviously are too self-absorbed!

Ok ok I see this heading to be an argument. This is a double headed dagger... Ok it can go any way.. Allie u may see it as a form of child abuse but in my view and im sure alot of others I would rather my son to go threw it now then latter on in life because it is stated above little boys dont want to spend 5 extra minutes cleaning their penis when they can be playing. So infection isnt uncommon exspecially as the child gets older. I respect your decision and you have you views and out looks on it. But c;mon yall lets not ridicule and fight over it. Everyone has their own out look on things. Can we please stop this before it turns into a fat family post...Lol

i agree.

I just take it personal when someone says you're a child abuser if you circumcise your child. My children are my world and will always be! I just had to get that out!

I'm done!

True, let's not fight over it just because of some people's narrow mind and immaturity. I am not the happiest thinking that my child has to have this done but if it's best for him than that's what matters.

We have to make hard choises sometimes as mothers but we all love our children and want what's best for them.

Im not being narrow minded. You dont even feel good about doing it, yet your still going ahead because of culture traditions which originated from religious beliefs written in the bible, its crazy your nuts. If the baby could talk he would be saying dont do it to me.
Michelle its child abuse in my opinion, so if you did it then yes thats what you were being.
I love my baby too much to hurt him unnecessarily, you didnt.

Actually they dont feel anything because they do freeze the area before doing it....

My husband had it done at 12 he went to a some tribal drs house and had it done with a machete pretty balbaric if I may say! Anyways infections is extremely common but they wont do a circumsicion till a man has had so many infections thats why they dont see a need so men have to suffer. Id rather have my child done being frozen and healing quick after instead of suffering I dont like it but to many there are many pros over cons!!!

Its not abuse,

abuse: inflicting mental/pysical harm on purpose, with knowledge 2~ inflicting harm upon oneself!!

If a mother is doing it for her sons health then she is in no way inflicting harm on purpose

Its not for his health, because its not likely he will get an infection, you're wrong it isnt common to get one, if they are shown how to clean it properly there shouldnt be any problems.
Diamond are you getting you boy done then?

allie, there is a lot you need to learn before becoming a mother! So why don't you call children's services on me if i'm abusing my child??? Any good mother would call on another person whose abusing their children... Because it's not abuse!

You keep saying that they feel the procedure being done... How do you know? Did you research it?

If a male doesn't get it done at birth, and needs one at 4, 14, 24, 34 etc... He will remember it for life, a newborn won't!

Anyway, like I said it's all personal choice!

Its not even likely he will need it doing later on as long as he cleans it the right way, which is easy once hes shown how. And I know they cry and feel it because I saw it being done twice, once in real and once on tv. It was awful. You're crazy to do that.

No they don't feel it! I was in the room with my first... They're naked and they hold their legs apart that why they cry! Most newborn babies cry when they have a bath right? It's because they are cold and are doing something they don't particularly enjoy.
After it was done and was given to me he stopped...... Why do you suppose that is? They didn't cry during changes, when you have to change a gauze around it. Think about it!

the first one may have had a very small amount of dried blood with jordan but not with brian.

The gauze is to protect the head of his penis from causing friction between that and his diaper. Remember the head was covered by the foreskin.

With every diaper change you have to change the "dressing", which is the gauze, and put vaseline on with the new "dressing".
